Today I planned to be almost to Alaska, but here I am in Northern California dealing with the healing of my body. I am sorry that I won't go to Alaska this summer with my "Alaska friends", but so grateful that breast cancer was found and eliminated. Now I will follow through with a six-week radiation therapy and be good to go. I am already planning on my Alaska trip which will look very different from the one I planned for 2009.

Tomorrow I start with radiation. They tell me I should expect fatigue.  I like to read so I could use this as an excuse to read that big fat Michner book on Alaska. My daughter, Christina, and her son, Anthony, came from South Dakota and plan to stay with me for the duration.  I am blessed.

Wish I could be with my Alaska friends.  Happy to be here, though, and healing. I will keep you posted.
